Rockland Men's Basketball Players Earn All-Region Awards
The RCC Men's Basketball team has three outstanding players who have been recognized for their exceptional performances in the 2022-2023 season. Freshmen Tayejon Lynch and Diamonte McMillan have been named to the Division 2 Second-Team All Region XV Team, and sophomore forward Daniel Jean-Baptiste has earned a spot on the All-Region Sportsmanship Team.
Tayejon Lynch, a 6'0" point guard and graduate from Our Savior Lutheran School in Queens, NY, proved to be a versatile player on the court. He averaged an impressive 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game, making him an essential part of the team's success this season.
Diamonte McMillan, a 6'1" guard and graduate from Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh, NY, also had a remarkable season. He averaged 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, showing his skills by leading the team in scoring this season.
Daniel Jean-Baptiste, a 6'3" forward and graduate from Ramapo High School in Spring Valley, NY has been recognized for his exceptional sportsmanship on and off the court. He has been a great role model for the team, displaying a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and respect for others.
The Division 2 All Region XV team consists of players from junior colleges in the mid and lower Hudson valley, and the recognition of Tayejon Lynch and Diamonte McMillan's contributions to the team is a great achievement for the Rockland Men's Basketball program. Daniel Jean-Baptiste's recognition for sportsmanship is a testament to his character and dedication to the sport.

You can still catch the Hawks in action when they enter the Region XV playoffs on Saturday, February 25th. The #4 seeded Rockland squad will take on the #1 seeded and undefeated SUNY Orange Colts. The game is currently scheduled to begin at 2:30pm on the SUNY Orange campus. The tournament kicks off at 12:00pm when the #2 Sullivan Generals face off against the #3 seeded Westchester Vikings.
