About Esports
RCC's Athletc Department launched a competitive Esports program in the Spring of 2021. Esports are video games played in a highly organized competitive environment, taking the fun of liesurely playing with your friends to the next level. RCC currently competes in two Esports leagues; NJCAAE and SUNY Esports League. Each league differs in which gaming titles it offers and in eligibility requirements among its participants.
During the first semester of competition, RCC student's competed virtually at home, using their own gaming PC's and consoles in a "play at home model" to ensure that our students and staff were safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the adversity that comes with competing remotely, our students rose to the ocassion and competing in the playoffs in several games. We are excited to announce that in Fall 2021, RCC will be opening an Esports Arena in the Student Union Building where our teams will hold practices and competition. The space will also host student tournaments and other Esports recruting events. The Esports Arena will house 11 high end gaming PC's and console stations.
